This short story was written in response to Esther Chilton’s “Can You Tell A Story In… 49 words” challenge, citing five words which need to be included as part of the task: Wasp, Diet, Xylophone, U-Turn and Chivalry.

The year was 2093 and we were all starving. With a daily diet of scraps, ribs could be played as you might a xylophone. No u-turn for humanity now. Acts of chivalry were classed as weakness. A man even killed another man over a dead wasp to eat.
